Troubleshooting ExpressLRS Receiver Binding Issues

Question: Why won’t my ExpressLRS receiver bind to the transmitter?

Answer: First, ensure both your transmitter and receiver are flashed with compatible ExpressLRS firmware versions. Mismatched versions often cause binding failures. Next, check that your receiver is powered correctly, with a stable voltage within its specified range. Enter binding mode on the receiver by pressing the bind button or shorting the bind pads, then put your transmitter into bind mode via the LUA script or module button. Make sure the receiver’s LED indicates it is in bind mode (usually a fast blink). Keep the transmitter and receiver close, within 1–2 metres, to avoid signal issues during binding. If it still won’t bind, try resetting both devices and repeat the process. Also, confirm the correct model and frequency settings on your transmitter. Finally, check antenna connections on the receiver and transmitter for damage or poor contact. Following these steps systematically will usually resolve binding problems with ExpressLRS gear.
