Question: Why won’t my ExpressLRS receiver bind to the transmitter?
Answer: First, ensure both your transmitter and receiver are running the same ExpressLRS firmware version. Mismatched versions often cause binding failures. Next, power on the receiver and put your transmitter into bind mode—usually by holding the bind button or selecting bind in the radio’s menu. Check that the receiver’s LED indicates it is in bind mode (often a fast flashing light). If the receiver doesn’t enter bind mode, try pressing its bind button or shorting the bind pads while powering it on. Also, verify the wiring is correct, especially the connection to the correct UART and the power supply voltage is stable (typically 5V). Make sure the receiver antenna is properly connected and undamaged. Finally, bring the transmitter and receiver close together (within 1 metre) during binding to ensure a strong signal. If it still won’t bind, try erasing previous bind data by reflashing the firmware or using the ExpressLRS configurator to reset settings before attempting again.
