Question: Why does my RC plane roll left when I throttle up?
Answer: A left roll on throttle increase is commonly caused by torque effect from the propeller spinning clockwise (from behind). The engine’s torque pushes the plane opposite to the prop rotation, causing a roll to the left. To fix this, first check your plane’s trim and control surfaces to ensure they are neutral. Next, try adding a small amount of right aileron trim or adjust your transmitter’s dual rates to compensate. You can also slightly increase right rudder input to counteract the torque. If your model has adjustable motor mounts, angling the motor slightly right may help. Finally, practise smooth throttle application to reduce sudden torque spikes. If you have a high-power setup or a large prop, this effect will be more noticeable, so make these adjustments accordingly. Flying in calm conditions will also help you identify and correct the issue more easily.
