Question: Why won’t my ExpressLRS receiver bind to the transmitter?
Answer: First, ensure both your transmitter and receiver are running compatible ExpressLRS firmware versions. Mismatched versions often prevent binding. Power on the receiver and put the transmitter into binding mode—usually by holding the bind button or selecting bind in the transmitter’s menu. Check that the receiver’s bind LED is flashing, indicating it’s ready. If it’s not, try pressing the bind button on the receiver while powering it up. Confirm the antenna on both units is connected and undamaged, as poor signal can block binding. Also, verify the receiver is powered with the correct voltage (usually 5V or as specified). If you’ve flashed new firmware recently, double-check your configuration settings to ensure the correct UART and serial protocols are selected. Finally, bring the transmitter and receiver close together (within a metre) during binding to ensure a strong signal. If binding still fails, try reflashing the firmware or testing with a different receiver or transmitter module to isolate the issue.
