Question: Why won’t my ExpressLRS receiver bind to the transmitter?
Answer: Start by ensuring both your transmitter and receiver are running the same ExpressLRS firmware version. Mismatched versions often prevent binding. Next, power on the receiver in bind mode—usually by holding down the bind button while powering up or connecting the battery. The receiver’s LED should indicate it’s ready to bind (often a flashing light). On your transmitter, enter bind mode via the ExpressLRS Lua script or module interface. If binding doesn’t start, check your wiring and ensure the receiver is getting a clean 5V or 3.3V power supply, depending on the model. Also, verify your antenna connections are secure and undamaged, as poor signal can block binding. Try moving to an open area free from interference, at least a couple of metres away from other electronics. Finally, if problems persist, flash both devices again with the latest firmware and repeat the process. These steps usually resolve binding issues quickly.
